Detroit-Area Clean Cities Coalition

Clean Cities is a U.S. Department of Energy program that supports community efforts to reduce petroleum consumption in the transportation sector, helping to advance the economic, environmental, and energy security of the United States.

The Detroit Area Clean Cities Coalition is one of a network of more than 80 community based coalitions focused on promoting alternative fuels and vehicles, fuel blends, fuel economy, hybrid vehicles, and idle reduction. Stakeholders in the Coalition include representatives from local government, transportation authorities, fuel suppliers and distributors, automotive suppliers and OEMs, fleet managers, non-profit groups, and others. Much of the group’s work occurs in working groups and committees, including focused efforts exploring Biofuels, Education and Promotion, Fleet Procurement and Management, Hydraulic Hybrids, and more.
